Ray Blinds: Local SEO and Google Ads Across Greater Vancouver

Our work for Ray Blinds
Ray Blinds makes and sells custom blinds and shades from its Surrey, BC showroom to customers across Greater Vancouver. Since October 2025, we have managed SEO and Google Ads together, using a shared keyword list and city-by-city planning. By October 2026, we had tracked 183 pieces of work and delivered 152 across search content, campaigns, website improvements and reporting.

A Shared Plan for SEO and Ads
SEO and Google Ads use the same keyword list and team. We review which paid searches lead to calls when planning content, then consider organic performance when deciding where ads are still useful. The two channels inform the same marketing decisions.
Campaigns Organised by City
Surrey has its own ad group as Ray Blinds’ home market. Other Greater Vancouver cities receive separate attention, with search pages following the same geography. A buyer in Coquitlam or Burnaby can find information relevant to the area they want served.
183 Tracked Pieces of Work
From October 2025 to October 2026, we tracked 183 pieces of work and delivered 152. The scope covered SEO content, on-site fixes, ad builds and optimisation, website work and reports used in the regular client reviews.
Local Search Marketing for Ray Blinds’ Surrey Showroom
Ray Blinds measures, makes and installs custom blinds and shades, selling directly from its Surrey showroom. Buyers looking nearby often compare several shops before calling. Our job was to make the business easier to find across its service area and give visitors enough information to take the next step, whether they arrived through a Google ad or an organic search result.

Reviewing Search and Ads Together
We run Ray Blinds’ SEO and Google Ads from a shared keyword list. Every two weeks, we review both channels on the same call with a written report. That gives content planning and budget decisions a common set of information, rather than treating rankings and paid campaigns as unrelated work.
In August 2026, we modelled the advertising budget around projected enquiries at different spending levels. That gave Ray Blinds a way to discuss the budget in terms of potential leads. The model informed planning; it was not a record of enquiries already received.
Reflecting Where Customers Search
The campaigns are divided by city, with Surrey in its own group. We considered Vancouver as a wider market rather than reducing it to one keyword, and wrote location pages around how buyers in each city search. The geography of the ads and content follows the area Ray Blinds serves.
Helping Visitors Decide Whether to Call
In July 2026, we added a showroom section so visitors could see there was a place to compare fabrics in person. We repaired the About page, contact form and related email delivery, and advised on intake fields for window sizes and rooms. Those changes addressed the practical information needed before an enquiry and the route it takes afterward.
We also pursued an authorised Norman dealer listing and links from directories and the local Board of Trade. On the website, we write buying and care guides based on customer searches, including how to clean honeycomb blinds.
Creative Based on Direct Pricing
Ray Blinds makes its products and sells them directly. We used that point in refreshed Meta creative, placing messages over real rooms: “Blinds that fit your windows and your wallet”, “Custom blinds, without the custom markup” and “Blackout blinds, with transparent prices”. The ads gave buyers a specific reason to consider the showroom.
The Work We Handle
- SEO through research, city pages, guides, technical repairs, listings and links.
- Google Ads with city-based campaigns, budget models and reporting.
- Ad creative for Meta, based on price and the showroom.

One View of Local Search
The value of the arrangement is coordination: the same team can review an ad, a city page and the enquiry route together. Explore our SEO and performance marketing, our approach to marketing in Vancouver, or more of our work.
Project FAQs
What does Setsail do for Ray Blinds?
We manage SEO and Google Ads from one keyword list, with a written report and review call every two weeks. The programme also includes website fixes and refreshed Meta ad creative, connecting how customers find Ray Blinds with what happens when they visit.
Should a local business run SEO and Google Ads together?
The channels can inform each other. Paid searches can show which terms produce calls, while organic performance helps the team review where paid coverage remains useful. For Ray Blinds, one team looks at both before making content and budget decisions; organic rankings do not automatically remove the need for ads.
How do you market a business across Greater Vancouver?
For Ray Blinds, we organise Google Ads by city, with Surrey in its own group as the home market. Search pages follow the same geography, so the information reflects the area a buyer wants served, including places such as Coquitlam and Burnaby.
What does the SEO work for Ray Blinds include?
The scope includes buyer guides, city content, technical repairs, listings and local links. Examples include a honeycomb-blind cleaning guide, a showroom section, About page and contact-form fixes, and work on directories and the local Board of Trade listing.
How do you set a Google Ads budget for a small business?
We discuss projected enquiries alongside spending levels, so the owner can assess the budget in business terms. That was the approach used for Ray Blinds in August 2026. A projection helps with planning; actual calls and enquiries still need to be measured after campaigns run.
