AetherEV: Three Years of Website Design and Ongoing Care
Our work for AetherEV
AetherEV provides EV charging for apartments, auto dealers and workplaces. We built its website in September 2023 and have maintained it monthly since, adding audience pages, BC Hydro rebate content, awards and investor news. More than three years into the relationship, the company still works with us and has referred other clients, including CleanDesign.
Monthly Website Care Since September 2023
We began with AetherEV’s website build in September 2023 and have maintained it monthly since. Co-founder Melanie Clarance describes the relationship this way: “I end up knowing a lot of marketing people that do websites and more – but we haven’t moved.”
A Website for Each Buyer
Property developers and multi-residential owners, auto dealers and workplaces each have their own pages, alongside BC Hydro rebate information. Melanie says: “Everyone told us in all three years that the website that we have today is one that people would expect was a five or ten year old company.”
A Referral That Became a Client
Melanie introduced us to CleanDesign, which became a client. She describes its website as “drop-dead gorgeous, extremely functional”, and has since recommended us to others. The continuing relationship has brought work beyond AetherEV’s own site.
EV Website Design and Maintenance for AetherEV
AetherEV Energy Corporation builds and operates smart Level 2 and Level 3 EV charging for apartments, auto dealers and workplaces, with its own app and software. The website has to serve four different audiences and stay current as grants, investor pitches and policy change. That calls for clear audience pages and regular updates, rather than a site left alone after launch.
Helping Different Buyers Find Their Information
A strata manager, car dealer, workplace facilities lead and investor arrive with different questions. We needed to understand residential charging, commercial charging, MURBs (multi-unit residential buildings) and rebates before organising the pages. Melanie put it this way: “They suddenly had to learn a new industry… and so that all translated to how we set ourselves up on the website: where you would put content that a strata manager could go to, where you would put content or insights that a car dealership owner would go to.”
We built the website around those audiences. In 2024, we wireframed and developed the rental and apartment owners’ page, added benefits for auto dealers and created a BC Hydro rebates page with a site-wide banner. Regular blog posts supported the audience-specific information.
Keeping Company News Current
AetherEV’s News and Recognitions section records its progress: New Ventures BC 2025 finalist, VanTec Angel Network finalist, Melanie’s global finalist place in Women Leading EV, and selection among 32 startups pitching at Plug and Play’s UBC and McGill University sessions. Those updates matter while partners and investors are paying attention.
In July 2026, Melanie asked us to add the last two recognitions, noting they would wait if there was an extra cost. We replied two days later: “Happy to! Both are easy, and there’s no cost.” We put Women Leading EV in the site-wide banner, replaced an older announcement, repaired a New Ventures BC link and an App Store typo, and linked the footer to AetherEV’s actual LinkedIn page.
Ongoing Help for a Small Team
AetherEV needs its website to reflect the business as it develops, without a large agency retainer. The monthly relationship gives it a team already familiar with the site and its audiences. When the app developers requested access to domain settings in May 2026, we provided it that day.

Do you build websites for cleantech and EV companies?
